What Is A Soul Worth To You?

How much does it cost? We often consider this question when we make decisions, and often do research to make the best choice. But how much does a soul cost? This question cannot be answered by searching Google, but only by considering the Word of God.

Plowing Around The Stumps

This sermon is based on a piece of advice Eric heard when he was younger: “It’s easier to plow around the stumps than remove them.” In spiritual matters, this is dangerous advice to follow, as there are things that Christians must do away with in their lives to please God.

A Convenient Season

In Acts 24, the Apostle Paul is put on trial before the governor Felix. Paul used this opportunity to preach the gospel to this heathen ruler. Later, Felix called on Paul to speak to him again, and though he was shaken by the Apostle’s teaching, he delayed obedience “until a convenient season”. Eric points out the dangers inherent in this attitude, one many share today.

Ask For The Old Paths

Robert Frost’s famous poem speaks of two diverging paths. There is a spiritual application similar to the sentiment of this poem: Jeremiah warned the children of Israel to ask for the old paths that God intended for them. We, too, as modern Christians, should walk the one true path we read of in the Scriptures.

Seek The Kingdom

In this sermon, Eric uses Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of a statue made of various materials as the basis of a discussion of the last and greatest Kingdom of all, the Church of Jesus Christ, and the importance of becoming a citizen of this wondrous Kingdom.

Does Jesus Care?

Does Jesus care about us? The Bible tells us that He most certainly does. But perhaps a more important question, one that we all must answer is this: do we care about Jesus? And if we say that we do care for Him, how do we show this in our lives?
